At District 518, our mission is for all learners to be successful citizens in the future. We are committed to meeting the needs of our students, employees, and community by providing a quality education in a positive, nurturing, and caring environment. Providing a quality education for our students is equally as important as the classrooms and environments where our students grow.
On Tuesday, August 13, residents of District 518 will decide whether to invest $15.3 million to make key educational space and deferred maintenance improvements to Worthington High School.
We are grateful for our community’s support, and are committed to providing adequate and engaging learning environments for our students in grades 9-12. Our district administration and school board have worked hard to bring forward a plan that prioritizes facility needs, and not wants.
This dedicated website provides district residents with the information they need to make an informed decision on or before Election Day, including details about the proposed improvements, the estimated tax impact, voting information, and more. District 518 is committed to our students, staff, and community members located in Worthington, Bigelow, Reading, Rushmore, Wilmont, and the surrounding areas. We encourage all residents to understand the proposed bond referendum and how the plan would impact our students for decades to come. Don’t forget to vote on or before Tuesday, August 13.
